Project 365/38 Picture of a Picture of 2 Ladies & a Huge Bat - that can't be a Hawaiian Hoary Bat - the ʻŌpeʻapeʻa - right?
I was at a community development meeting at NHERC, Honoka'a & was mesmerized by this historic picture on the wall of two ladies & a huge bat. I don't know the story behind this photo - but I thought I'd capture it & share it. Does somebody know what kind of bat this is?

Project 365/36 And this is What a Canine Looks Like...
We just found this in the driveway where the dogfight occurred. It makes me sick to look at it, but I guess there's no putting it back. Maybe this is why you can't teach old dogs new tricks; they just don't have the teeth for it anymore. Ohana means no one gets left behind, and ohana means we don't kill your siblings, but what does it mean about pack mentality? How can we ensure our young buck doesn't kill our old alpha dog? *Sigh*
