Project 365/015: 2012. Orchid Resurrection

I resurrected this orchid from a rack of dying orchids at Lowe's. I paid $2 to rescue it from the throwaway rack. I had no idea how it would turn out but I'm so glad I got it to this point.  It's beautiful!!!

Project 365/009: 2012. Spider Orchid (Laurel's old orchid)

Belated but beautiful.  I was 'given' this orchid when Laurel went back to the mainland & it has some great, intense, aggressive-looking blooms.

Day 1 of Project 2012: A Photojournal of the End of the World, As We Know It

We start out Year 2012 with a battle scene on my dining room table. Enter the young sixteen year old Isaac to engage in a show of strength & masculinity against fit & trim farmer Ferol White. Their bellies glutted with chili made with homegrown grass-fed Hamakua beef & tender pinto beans, corn bread, chile relleno casserole, oreo pie & chocolate truffles, - they faced each other with bravery & honor. Sure, there were grimaces, moans, and ripping muscles. There were even a few tears. And though we will not soon forget this first day of 2012, with its epic multigenerational battles, heaping plates, and bloated bellies - the important thing isn't who won this day - it only matters that good friends and good food are back on Bibingkalove's Bliss Blog. I hope not to disappoint. This is my year. You're welcome along for the ride.
